Monthly Activities

Speaker & Discussion Gathering: Generally the first Wednesday of each month, we have a speaker meet with our group to further educate us on several topics of interest. In the past we have had pediatricians, chiropractors, fitness gurus, doctors, and child-rearing experts speak to our group on topics such as vaccines, women & children's health issues, and discipline strategies. We usually close these gatherings with an update on club business and announce any upcoming activities. Of course, there is always time to socialize and welcome new members and visitors. Children are welcome to remain with their mom during this time or they can play together in our supervised children's room. Once they are accustomed to coming, the kids think of it as their own club!

Music and More: Moms and kids gather together for a morning of music, stories & crafts lead by one of our Mom Volunteers. Bring the kids out, even the tiny ones, to enjoy this fun filled activity.

Fieldtrips: Once a month, the kids along with their Moms, enjoy an exciting morning out and about at a selected location. This may include picking fruits and vegetables at a local farm, storytime at a local bookstore, learning how ice cream is made and getting to make your own sundae, becoming a pizza chef at a local pizzeria or visiting the animals at the zoo. Regardless of location, it is always a great time to visit with 'old' friends as well as an opportunity to make new ones!

MOM's Night Out: A fun night where we can gather to socialize, relax and enjoy each other's company. These evenings have included dinner out, massage/facial night, game night, mini golf and going to the movies. Every Mom deserves a 'girls' night out' now and again!

Park Days: These days will randomly appear on the calendar and offer members the opportunity to socialize and play at one of the local playgrounds. Pack a picnic lunch and make a morning out of it!

Playgroups: Children are generally grouped by age and each group meets weekly at a member's home or agreed upon location on a particular day and time. This is a great way for both Moms and kids to get to know one another better! Our playgroup coordinator would be happy to help you get started.

Other Events

Community Service: As a chapter, we must complete one service project annually benefiting women and children. We do not look at this as something we have to do but as something we want to do. It is a wonderful way to teach our children about giving to those in need and about caring for those around you. In past years, our club has participated in a Halloween parade at a local retirement/assisted living facility, donated meals and gifts for a family during the holidays, participated in a local festival and parade, raised money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through a "Trike-a-Thon" and served a meal at the Ronald McDonald House.

Annual Trunk or Treat: Each year just before Halloween, we gather in a member's driveway with our vehicle trunks decorated for the holiday ready to hand out treats to all the kids in costume. We also have prizes for the best decorated vehicle and best costume. It is a great time for both Moms and kids!

Spring & Winter Parties: Each year we hold seasonal parties to help us celebrate the time of year. The kids play games and decorate homemade cookies.  Fun is had by all!

Couples' Night Out: To keep our partners from getting jealous of all our MOMS Club fun, we organize ocassional evenings out.  These evenings have included dinner, game night, going to see a local band perform and a member organized/hosted progressive dinner.

Staying Connected

Monthly Newsletter: Once you become a member, you will receive our monthly newsletter via email which gives you the scoop on all the month's activities.

Helping Hands: The MOMS Club has a "Helping Hands" committee which provides meals for new (and new again) moms! If you would like to volunteer your services to prepare a meal or you are expecting and would like to receive these dinners compliments of your fellow members, please contact the Helping Hands Coordinator. Congratulations to all new and repeating moms!
