April

Our first meeting this month will be held on Wednesday, April 7th at 10:00 am.  This meeting will host a special event - the Mother to Mother Fundraiser.  Some of our very own members who run part-time at-home businesses will have tables set up where you are free to browse, purchase and/or order any of their offering.  A percentage of all proceeds will go to the Mother-to-Mother Fund.  This is sure to be a fun event, so don't miss it!

Our second meeting this month will be held on Wednesday, April 21st at 10:00 am.  This meeting will host our annual Spring Egg Hunt which is always a lot of fun.  Be sure to bring a basket for collecting those eggs and a camera!

Upcoming Events - April

Dairy Farm Field Trip

This month we are taking the kids to a dairy farm.  They will have the opportunity to see cows being milked, watch milk being turned into ice cream (with a sample provided, of course), take a hayride and play in a hayloft and on a genuine rope swing.  This is going to be a really fun morning, so plan on joining us.  Our farm adventure will be held on Thursday, April 15th at 10:00 am, and the cost is $8.00 per person (2 and under are free).

Kids Crafts

Join us for our monthly crafts for kids.  This month's theme is "Mother's Day" and we will be reading a book and doing two crafts related to our theme.  The kids always have a good time, so be sure to come.  Don't forget to bring a smock, our little artists tend to be very energetic!

MOMS Night Out - Paint Your Own Pottery

Join us this month for our MOMS Night Out out a local pottery painting studio where we will be getting back on touch with our artistic sides!  This event will be held on Wednesday, April 7th from 6:45 pm until 9:00 pm.  Plan on joining us, it's sure to be a blast!

Ongoing Events

Gym Time will take place every Monday from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at a local gym.  Join us for lots of fun and activity!  If you are interested in attending, please contact the Park Time Coordinator who can give you more information.

Book Corner

Welcome to the Book Corner.  Our recommendation for this month is A Thousand Acres by Jane Smiley.   This book is reminiscent of a modern day King Lear taking place on a rural Iowa farm.  Sound interesting... bizarre... educational... moving? See for yourself and check it out!

Welcome Baby

The MOMS Club® has a "Welcome Baby" committee which provides meals for new (and new again) moms! If you would like to volunteer your services to prepare of a meal or you are expecting and would like to receive these dinners compliments of your fellow members, please contact the Welcome Baby Coordinator.  Congratulations to all new and repeating moms!

Community Service Event

Once again this year we will be collecting labels and UPC codes from eligible products for Campbell's Labels for Education.  We will be collecting throughout the year and donating everything we receive to one (or more) of our local schools.  The school can then use them to obtain free educational materials like computers, sports equipment, musical instruments and much, much more.  So please take a moment to remove the labels from all your Campbell's soups and cut the UPC code from Pepperidge Farm goldfish crackers.  A complete listing of eligible products is available by clicking here.  There will be a collection container at the sign-in table at each meeting. Thanks for your help!

Board Elections!

It's that time of year again to start thinking about next year's Executive Board.  There are five positions, all of which are open - President, Administrative Vice-President, Membership Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary.  If you are interested in any of these positions, or would just like more information, please contact a member of the Board.  There will also be a number of Chair positions open, so think about those as well!
